 One of Hilton Head newest courses ISLAND WEST GOLF CLUB opened to the nomination of "Best New Course in 1992" by Golf Digest. Designed by the former Master's and U.S. Open Champion Fuzzy Zoeller and the award winning architect Clyde Johnston. The tactfully designed course has been cut through the undisturbed coastal forest with tall pines, large live oaks and the natural marsh . Everything Fuzzy Zoeller has done is with the average golfer in mind. The wide rolling fairways, elevated tees, and the large greens have made Island West a very playable course for golfers of all levels. Fuzzy has challenged the aggressive golfer and has left many opportunities to shoot a superb score. But remember, at every opportunity to walk away under par there is a strategically placed hazard waiting quietly by. Fuzzy's objective was to create a course that was "fun to play". He has done just that.
